#130 New Blog

     When I began publishing my manuscripts as ebooks on Amazon.com, I noticed a shift in the emphasis of this blog. Some of my posts no longer fit the stated purpose of Jump up 2 Chapter Books.

     Therefore, I am adding a second blog specifically about ebooks for kids.  I believe that its time has come in this high-tech world in which we live.  The kids probably realized it before we did.

     I will try to keep up with this blog as well, but will use subjects more exciting for beginning and/or reluctant readers.  For example, photo essays with captions about Topper, my cat. 

    My first post on the new blog has been published on http://www.ebooks4kids.blogspot.com/ but some of it is still in the developing stages.

    Feel free to check it out, sign on as a follower, and make comments if you wish.

     White Rabbit Time (Agent C Series) by Lynda is now listed on Amazon.com. 

     This Illustrated ebook for middle-grade readers is available for $3.99, and may be downloaded directly to your Kindle. The listing on Amazon.com has a nice description of the story.  Just type the title and author (White Rabbit Time by Lynda) in the search box. 

     With Amazon's Kindle App, you may also read it on Android type devices, or on your PC, Mac, Blackberry, iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

#128 Enlarging Illustrations on Kindle Fire

     Before I begin today's discussion, I want to offer a somewhat belated welcome to the new reading audiences in my thirty-fourth and thirty-fifth country.

     My stats page indicates that I have had recent activity from both Morocco and Nigeria.  Thank you for being part of our world of readers.

     Perhaps I am the last one to discover how to enlarge illustrations on Amazon's Kindle Fire, but this technique is especially important to me, as I have illustrations for each chapter of my six published books for middle grade readers.

     The Kindle Fire has a touch screen, and the process looks like this:

          Find an illustration in one of my books.

 

          Touch and hold to highlight the illustration and the three-part menu beneath it.

     Touch the word "Zoom" located on the far right.  (The first two words, "Note" and "Highlight", are not needed at this time.)

          There it is--all enlarged for you to enjoy. 
          Now how do we get back to the story?
          Simple!

     Just tap the little x in the circle located in the top right corner of the screen.


     I hope you have found this helpful.  Most people try to spread their thumb and finger over the illustration, but  the Kindle Fire works a bit differently. 

     I think this will enhance your enjoyment of my original illustrations in the Agent C Series; Tiny Others, Pomegranate, and Lucky Alana, as well as Circles in the Wind, Monkey Tales, and Margaret's Christmas Cookies all By Lynda on Amazon.com.

#127 Free ebook again

      Pomegranate (Agent C Series) may be downloaded free to Kindle devices on March 8.  This promotion was so successful when I ran it earlier that I decided to do it again.

     Just go to http://www.amazon.com/, select Kindle books and type Pomegranate by Lynda in the search window.

     I'm not sure if you will be allowed to order it a second time, but please let other readers in your life know about the promo.

     White Rabbit Time is nearly ready to publish.  Watch this blog for my notice about it in the next few days.

#126 Making progress on White Rabbit Time

     I apologize for my recent neglect of this blog.  I have been working hard to get White Rabbit Time published on Amazon.com as a Kindle ebook. 

     This story for middle-grade readers is a part of the "Agent C" series, and has an Easter connection.  I hope to push its final "Publish" button in the next three weeks (by the end of February).

     I have noticed that you are still checking in.  Your "stats" show up on my end of the http://www.jumpup2chapterbooks.blogger.com/ site.  I appreciate your continued support.  

     Topper came out of his latest asthma episode just fine.  His winter coat is thick and long.  What a beautiful cat he is!  My posts with his pictures were so popular that I have recognized my readers' interest in more pictures and news of him.

     I will do something about Topper as soon as my current book is published.  I promise.

#125 Lucky Alana is Published

     Lucky Alana (Agent C Series) by Lynda is finally available as a Kindle ebook on Amazon.com for $3.99. 

     I wonder if I am beginning to experience some kind of a "burn out" considering the many errors and corrections of the punctuation and verb tense kinds I was required to make . (Perhaps the difficulties were also related to the many happy interruptions I experienced through the holidays!) 

     I think it is perfect and wonderful at last, and I plan to take a couple of weeks break before I begin working on the publication of White Rabbit Time (Agent C Series). 

     I hope to have that one finished in mid-March, a few weeks before Easter.

     Circles in the Wind, a Kindle picture book for young children is scheduled to be offered in a free promotion for two days on January 14 and 15. Just search with the title and author, "Circles in the Wind by Lynda" (without the quotes), from the Kindle Store on your reading device. 

     With its gentle watercolor and ink illustrations, this little book reveals the life story of a dandelion seed in poetic prose.

     It is also available at any time on Kindle Owners Lending Library with a Prime membership or may be purchased for $2.99 on Amazon.com for Kindle and many smart phones, ipads, computers and other devices.
